I was that tired, I couldn’t even keep my eyes open. 　→「とても疲れていて、目を開けていられなかった」 　※「that tired」は「very tired」と同じくらいの強調。

She was that angry, she didn’t speak to anyone all day. 　→「とても怒っていて、一日中誰とも話さなかった」

It wasn’t that difficult once I understood the basics. 　→「基本を理解したら、それほど難しくはなかった」 　※この場合の「that」は「very」より少し控えめな強調。

I didn’t expect it to be that expensive. 　→「そんなに高いとは思わなかった」

The party is not that exciting anyway.
今回のthatはexcitingにかかっているので副詞とわかります
副詞のthatはveryと同じになるので
「とても」という日本語に相当します。
thatがないとveryがないのと同じなので
程度が強かったものが普通になります
