文法について質問です。

こんにちは。

intent という単語は、名詞としても、形容詞としても使えます。

Garik walked into the courthouse intent on using ~ とありますので、この場合 intent という単語が名詞では courthour intent? と変な感じになりますので、じゃあこれは主語の Garik を修飾する形容詞だな、とわかります。

Garik walked into the courhouse (as he was) intent on using ~ ということです。

(Someone is) intent on ~ing というと、誰かが〜することにすごく集中、没頭している、という意味になります。
I am fully intent on doing the best job I possibly can if I'm given the opportunity.

Garik walked into the courthouse intent on using his status as an FBI agent, or his background... は、
ギャリックは、自分のFBIエージェントとしての身分や過去の経歴を活かすつもりで法定に足を踏み入れた。
という感じの意味だと思います。
