和訳では，「 彼らは少女を電車の前に押し倒すした」となっていますが，
私は，「彼らは電車の(中の)前にいる少女を押した」と解釈しました

in front of the trainが電車の中の前の方なのか，電車の先頭の頭のことを表しているのかがわかりません

in front of は熟語で「〜の前に」という意味です。in front of the train は、「列車の前に」で、列車自体とは切り離されています。もし列車の先頭車両に乗っている人たちの話であれば、次のように言います。

They pushed the girl in the first car of the train.
They pushed the girl at the front of the train.

「〜の先頭」という意味で front を使うのなら、the が付きます。

My car is gray, but if you just look at the front, you will think it’s black. The front of my car is covered with dead bugs!
