amountsの扱いについて

本を読んでいたところ下記の文章に行きあたりました。

Most organically-grown produce contains trace amounts of the chemicals in pesticedes, and the amounts of those chemicals in conventionally-grown produce is below goverment guidelines and so it's safe.

amountsはamountの複数として考え、 conventionally-grown produce are belowの方が正しいかな、と思うのですが、いかがでしょうか。
