日本語では「〜について議論する」「〜について説明する」と言うため
discussやexplainの後にaboutをつけたくなりますが、
これらは他動詞なのでそのまま目的語がきます。
I would like to discuss the problem with you.
I discussed with her the issues concerning the local community.
I would like to explain the reason to them.
I explained to him the current situation in the country.
「〜と（議論する）」というwith＋人、
「〜に（説明する）」というto＋人がある場合、
長い目的語は、動詞の直後より文の最後尾に置く方がすっきりします。

discussに aboutは使えない？
We discussed the problemにaboutはつかえないそうですが I would like to discuss with you about the problem の場合は良いのでしょうか。またexplainも同じでしょうか。よろしくお願いいたします。
