the opposite would be self-contradictory の意味は?
But Kant undoubtedly deserves credit for two things: first, for having perceived that we have a priori knowledge which is not purely ‘analytic’, i.e. such that the opposite would be self-contradictory; and secondly, for having made evident the philosophical importance of the theory of knowledge. この文の"the opposite would be self-contradictory"がどういうことなのかが分かりません。 よろしくお願いします。

This is not a piece of advice to you I'm talking to myself for my practice of writing skills. But Kant undoubtedly deserves credit for two things: first for having perceived that we have a priori knowledge which is not purely ‘analytic’ i.e such that the opposite would be self-contradictory and secondly for having made evident the philosophical importance of the theory of knowledge. I suppose If we don't have a priori knowledge Kant couldn't have perceived. i.e Kant have perceived that because we have a priori knowledge. I suppose it means that the contraposition would be self-contradictory.
