すみません教えて下さい。英文読解力の無さを痛感しました。
以下は行方不明潜水艇のCNNﾆｭｰｽです。少しでも朗報が無いかと願ってﾆｭｰｽを捜していますが、意味を教えて下さい。

後半は、捜索チームがキャッチした バンという音について、「経験豊かなナルジョレットさんが潜水艇内からの音だと知らせているものだ。」 「もし、潜水艇の中からの音だとすれば、人間の発した音としか考えられない。」即ち潜水艇の中から元気な人が音を出しているということだという意味ですか。
･･･cannot be interpreted as anything but human,” if indeed･･･の意味が良く分かりません。
