本題とは違うのですが、日本では a part of は あまり使われない と 習います。
冠詞なしの part of が普通 と習いますので、a part of だとそれにで何か特別な意味・理由があるのか 考え込んでしまうです。
(前に形容詞がつくときは a large part of のように 冠詞 a が必要 と習います)

This is off topic, but Japanese people would learn that "a part of" is not used very often.
Since we learn that "part of" is usually used without an article, it makes us wonder if there is any special meaning or reason for "a part of".
(When an adjective is added, the article "a" is necessary, as in "a large part of".)
