「workshop」は、何かの技術を学ぶことを目的にした会合です。「retreat」は、閑静な場所で自分を高めることで、その話題によって、楽しいリクリエーション活動だったり、合宿だったり、山籠もりだったりします。「retreat」を行うのは集団に限らず、独りで行うこともあります。ご質問は仏教の話ですので、グループで行う瞑想と違い、個人の修行を進めることを目的にしたプログラムです。具体的にどういうことをするのかは、その指導者や団体によります。
