You can also use 'throw up'.
He threw up.
Watch out! That's throw up (on the floor)!
She tried to eat the banana, but she threw it back up.
Vomit sounds vulgar. Vomit sounds violent.
She started throwing up everywhere. (at a party, gross!)
He started vomiting everywhere. (ohmaigawd! he needs to go to a hospital!!)
But with vomit there is no misunderstanding.
She tried to eat the banana, but she threw it back up--into the tree. A monkey caught it and ate it instead! hehe
