参勤交代 を英語に訳すと？

日本の行政制度なので、英語でも sankin kotai です。簡単に alternate attendance と訳されています。でも相手に日本史の知識がないと、これだけでは分かってもらえません。説明が必要です。例えば、

Sankin kotai is the feudal lords’ obligation to alternate living for a year in their domain and in the capital. It was enforced by the Tokugawa shogunate to strengthen central governance over the feudal lords.
