more food than I can eat は正しい？

I ordered food more than I can eat. は、「more than~  ～より多くの」という意味でよく使われると思うのですが、
I have more books than he has.　 のような比較級と同じように
I ordered more food than I can eat.　 とすることはできないのでしょうか？

出来ます。むしろ、そっちの方が自然です。

I ordered food (which is) more than I can eat.
I ordered more food than I can eat.

後者の方が自然です。

more food than I can eat は正しい？
