関係詞節の関係詞と wh節の疑問詞について

英文:

wh節の疑問詞を用いる
↓
The store clerk told the customer where 　　　　　
　　　　the toy department was.

質問なのですが、     関係詞節の関係詞を用いて文を作ることはできるのでしょうか。
どなたか教えていただけませんでしょうか。

1.　"where"には"place"の意味が含まれているので、この場合は"place where"と表現するのは避けるべきであるというご見解に同意いたします。

2.　"told the customer the place"という表現に違和感がありましたので、kevinさんによる"told the customer _about the place_"という修正で納得いたしました。

少し直します。

The store clerk told the customer about the place where the toy department was located.

the place where は可能ですが、この内容では、まわりくどい言い方に感じます。もともと where という言葉自体に in which place という意味があって、その前に the place を持ってくると、place が redundant になってしまうからです。

これが百貨店の売り場案内ではなくて、何か特別な place であれば、自然です。

My father told me about the place where he first started working.

place 以外の単語ならもっといいです。

Please show me where you had the accident.

Please show me the intersection where you had the accident.

Hiroshima is where the first atom bomb was dropped.

Hiroshima is the city where the first atom bomb was dropped.

「関係詞節の関係詞」が何なのかよく分からないので、見当違いの答えだったらすみません。
