ever after で「あの世」？
とある作品で、道に迷ってその場から動けなくなった男が
I'll likely meet the gods of the ever after before I ever see her again.
と言う台詞があります。機械翻訳にかけたところ、「彼女と再会する前に私はあの世の神々に会うことになるだろう」と訳されました。「このままでは死んでしまう（あの世に行ってしまう）」という文脈ですよね。
ever after は「その後ずっと」という意味しかないと思うのですが、
the gods of the ever after でなぜ「あの世の神々」になるのでしょうか。
