the difference of the pronunciation
I'm sometimes confused by the difference of the pronunciation between phonetic symbol and its sound in the weblio dictionary. For example, the word "imperialist " , "infiltration" , etc. I wish that it should be reconcile with the phonetic symbol and its sound.

You don’t learn how to speak by memorizing pronunciation “rules.” You learn pronunciation with your ears, not your eyes.
When you listen to a native speaker, imitate the sounds that you hear. When you are reading and listening to something, don’t try to see the pronunciation by looking at the word. Listen to the pronunciation of the word and repeat what you hear.
Unless you are aspiring to become an linguist, knowledge of phonetic symbols would be overcompensating in terms of learning practical use of English. Rather, I would recommend that you learn the basic of phonics, which is widely utilized in early childhood education and literacy programs.
